Whether your daughter is 5 or 15, you could throw a tea party she will never forget. Obviously, the age difference will call for some adjustments, but girls of all ages love tea parties.

Start with deciding if you want a dress up tea party or not. Younger girls can come dressed as their favorite movie princesses while older girls could dress in their Sunday best.

Next, you’ll need a location. You can set it up at your place, or if you really want to splurge, there are sometimes restaurants or even local tea shops that will host a tea party and make your job a lot easier.

Third, the menu is of the utmost importance. Little girls and older girls alike adore cute little finger foods and elegant dishes to serve them on. Consider making your own little tea cakes, sandwiches, and lemonade or herbal tea, or just have it catered for extra fun without the stress.

Finally, you will need some entertainment or tea party activities to make the tea party complete. Think about activities like a cross-stitching lesson with real little cross-stitch kits, a beading lesson with lots of fun beads to choose from, or napkin folding (but you’ve got to make this more fun by teaching how to fold animal shapes and such- you don’t want to be overly proper).

Tea parties can be a great way to celebrate birthdays, the end of the school year, accomplishments, or just the fact that your daughter has a special place in your heart. One thing for sure is that she will always remember the tea party you hosted for her. Because what little girl doesn’t dream of someday having a real tea party?
